CELESTIA UK has announced the appointment of its new CEO. Malachy Devlin joins the Edinburgh and Oxford-based satellite communications company to build its business and reputation as a leading provider of high-performance multi-beam scanning antenna systems.
Devlin has over 25 years of technical and leadership experience at a higher level, having held roles in international technology companies in market sectors ranging from satellite, 5G, space and defense, to software-defined radio and IoT. As a co-founder of several high-growth companies supported by investors, he is a proven technology leader with particular success in introducing innovative products to the market.
He joined Celestia UK from the Scottish 5G Center, where he was Chief Operating Officer and oversaw the successful establishment and development of the organization responsible for realizing the global potential of 5G connectivity.
Previous roles included Chief Operating Officer of AAC Clyde Space, a market leader in new space solutions and services for government, commercial and educational organizations, and Nallatech Senior Vice President and CTO (now part of Molex LLC), market leader in FPGA accelerators.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in electronic and microprocessor engineering from the University of Strathclyde, he completed a doctorate in signal processing. He holds a master’s degree in corporate leadership from Napier University in Edinburgh. A graduate engineer, Devlin is a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
