MediaTek has announced the new Dimensity 900 5G chipset, the latest addition to its Dimensity 5G family. The Dimensity 900 chipset, built on the 6-nanometer high-performance node, supports Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, ultra-fast FHD + 120Hz displays and a 108MP main camera for an incredible experience.

The Dimensity 900 chipset is integrated with 5G New Radio (NR) under a 6GHz modem with operator aggregation and bandwidth support up to 120MHz. The chipset is equipped with an octa-core central processing unit (CPU), consisting of two Arm Cortex-A78 processors clocked at up to 2.4 GHz and six Arm Cortex-A55 cores running at up to 2 GHz. Dimensity 900 supports leading-edge LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 storage and can adapt to a screen refresh rate of 120 Hz, delivering excellent performance improvements and a seamless experience for 5G mobile devices.

The chipset also integrates the Arm Mali-G68 MC4 graphics processor (GPU), along with an independent artificial intelligence processor (AI), which provides optimal energy efficiency for extended battery life. MediaTek’s third-generation AI processor is extremely energy efficient to support a wide variety of AI applications and 4K high-resolution (HDR) resolution.

The chipset integrates a leading HDR native image signal processor (ISP) and includes unique hardware-accelerated 4K HDR video recording. It supports up to four simultaneous cameras and up to 108MP sensors. It also features enhanced video capabilities from standard dynamic range (SDR) to HDR with real-time enhancements to HDR10 + video playback to improve content color and contrast.
