Thales augments radar portfolio with small UAVs in mind

Realizing the continuing need for the military improving the detection of small unmanned aerial vehicles, Thales launches his Ground Observer 20 (GO 20) a multimedia mission on 5 October at its premises in Limur, northern France.

Representatives told Thales Shepard that GO 20 complements and expands the existing portfolio of ground surveillance radars made by the company without plans to replace systems.

The portable GO 20 scans conventionally with a 360-degree azimuth rotating antenna. The antenna can also be tilted manually to ensure that it detects low-flying air targets.
