RHS students awarded Herb Kohl Foundation scholarships

Two students from Rhinelander High School are among the 200 scholarship recipients of the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Scholarship for 2021 and will receive $ 10,000 each.

Quinton Lemers was named an Outstanding Fellow, awarded to students who have demonstrated “academic excellence and high motivation to achieve, demonstrated a wide range of activities and leadership outside the academic environment, and shown a strong promise of success in college and beyond. him. The recipients of this award are selected by a state commission composed of civic leaders and representatives of education-related associations and sponsors of the program.

Analexis Jensen was selected as a student initiative fellow, demonstrating “outstanding initiative in the classroom and showing a strong promise of success in and out of college, but has not yet received other academic scholarships.” The recipients of this award are chosen by their schools.

In addition to these student awards, the Herb Cole Foundation’s scholarship and fellowship program recognized 101 teachers and 16 principals and their schools. The program was created by philanthropist and businessman Herb Cole in 1990. Since then, the foundation has donated nearly $ 25 million to teachers, principals, students and schools in Wisconsin.
