Starkville Police Department K-9 receive bullet proof best from non-profit

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A national non-profit organization helps a Starkville police officer get dressed.

The Starkville K-9 officer, Kojack, will receive a new vest resistant to bullets and punctures, thanks to a donation from Vested Interest at K-9s Incorporated.

The group provides vests and other dog assistance to law enforcement agencies in the United States.

Kojack has been in the SPD since September.

His two-legged partner says it’s a relief to know that Kojack will have an extra layer of protection.

“We are extremely grateful as a department and as its leader that we know he will be safe. This is a ballistic vest that is also resistant to punctures and bullets, so it’s good to know that I can send it in any situation and not worry that it could be killed, “said Corporal Parker Madine, K-9. manipulator.

Kojack should receive his custom vest by the end of winter or early spring.
