Rohde & Schwarz’s New Satellite Receiver Enables Software Defined Radio Applications – SatNews

There’s a new Rohde & Schwarz multipurpose satellite receiver with many new optimized aspects.

The new Rohde & Schwarz R & S®MSR4 multipurpose satellite receiver is a multi-channel receiver optimized for software defined radio applications in satellite communications and monitoring.

The new Rohde & Schwarz R & S®MSR4 multipurpose satellite receiver is a multi-channel receiver optimized for software defined radio applications in satellite communications and monitoring. The R & S®MSR4 has four tunable channels and receives signals in the L-band between 500 MHz and 3 GHz with on-board recording capability.

In addition, the receiver’s two transmit channels can use data from internal storage and external sources to generate RF signals from 900 MHz to 2.5 GHz. The small form factor allows smooth integration in various scenarios such as:

  • Software defined radio application
  • IQ stream / record and replay
  • Carrier defragmentation
  • Spectrum and carrier monitoring
  • Carrier-in-carrier separation

The R & S®MSR4 comes with a web based graphical user interface, which simplifies operation and is also supported by the R & S®GSACSM multi-device SATCOM signal monitoring.
