AUSTIN, TEXAS, USA, September 22, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ -AkiraNET, a Taiwan-based joint venture between ZINWELL and SUNPLUS Technology, has announced an agreement reached with Coherent Logix, (Austin, Texas) to develop the AKX22 V-SOC chipset, develop Wi-Fi 6E Mesh software and jointly develop Yoshino , Wi-Fi 6E network home network device.
Coherent Logix is a world leader in embedded processors. Coherent Logix HyperX ™ digital streaming processor technology is at the heart of this new product. HyperX is a software-defined platform that enables a virtual chip system (VSOC), and because CPU functionality is defined in the software, these devices are expected to be sold for many other purposes outside the AI-managed Wi-Fi network in consumer homes.
This new Wi-Fi reference design is no different than any other due to the software-defined nature of the VSOC that manages it and can be upgraded with additional functionality once deployed. Users and service providers will be able to download or distribute software upgrades and enhancements once it is deployed on their network. These can be more than just firmware updates, but functional upgrades like a new Wi-Fi 7 radio module, a new AI for network management, new software-defined network features, and more.
“We are very happy to serve this new joint venture between these two well-established consumer electronics and automotive companies and look forward to their success with this chipset and product family,” said Michael Doer (founder and CEO of Coherent Logix).
Jack Huang, chairman of both ZINWELL and AkiraNET BOD, said: “This product has been planned for a long time and we are happy to see that it is entering the next phase of development. Many of the retail customers and service providers we supply are excited to see this new product and the great price for such an advanced broadband home data device. ”
AkiraNET Co. is a factory manufacturer of chips based in Taipei, Taiwan. Founded in 2020, AkiraNET’s initial projects include a Wi-Fi 6E network and IoT MIMO reference designs tailored to the hardware-software interface for optimal performance. Using AkiraNET chipsets, product upgrades will simply be a matter of a new firmware burn, which will accelerate the development of our customers’ applications to market rates, rather than within traditional hardware and vendor limitations.
Coherent Logix is a leading provider of programmable processors in markets and applications requiring low power, high performance, and cost-effective computing solutions. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Coherent Logix introduced the unique HyperX technology in 2007, introducing HyperX Virtual System on Chip (VSOC) technology, miniaturizing older systems to nanoscale devices. This technology is suitable for applications such as aerospace, automotive, communications, consumer, industrial, media and entertainment, medical, military and many others, where processing and upgrade communications combined with very low energy consumption are mandatory.
