REDMOND, Wash .- (BUSINESS WIRE) – Kymeta (www.kymetacorp.com), the communications company that makes mobile global, today announced the launch of the Kymeta ™ u8 MIL hybrid terminal, providing military users with a camouflaged, flexible and more robust connectivity solution for mobile communications (COTM) and mobile networks (NOTM). . The new terminal complements the growing number of solutions offered by Kymeta based on the innovative u8 antenna technology.
The u8 MIL hybrid terminal uses Kymeta’s revolutionary, software-defined, beam control software technology to transform military communications through a robust, low-profile terminal that is easily mounted on vehicles and vessels. The Kymeta u8 MIL chime terminals integrate the iDirect 950mp router and support external modems such as Comtech 5650B, Viasat CBM400 and most commercial modems.
Offering a complete and customized solution, the u8 MIL features military-standard shock absorbers (MIL-STD), army-specific connectors and wiring, a sturdy, expandable enclosure and chemical-resistant coating (CARC) in an weather-resistant fairing. Kymeta’s u8 MIL hybrid terminal is designed to meet MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461, with built-in expansion capabilities for Internet Protocol (RoIP) radio and software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) and end computers, supports internal and external modem support, and has built-in modems that can be upgraded on site.
Kymeta Connect ™ packages offer full service connectivity solutions for u8 MIL hybrid terminals. Gigabyte satellite broadband packages are available from Kymeta with satellite or hybrid satellite / cellular capacity. TRANSEC services are also available for the u8 MIL hybrid terminal.
“We are pleased to once again meet the military’s connectivity needs, where and when they depend most on it,” said Bill Marx, Kymeta’s executive vice president and chief development officer. “For years, Kymeta’s advanced technology has been a proven resource for mission-critical operations. Our new u8 MIL hybrid terminal is specially adapted for military users, providing them with a solution for fast deployment and the fastest communication from the box anywhere. ”
The announcement comes a little less than two months after Kymeta has received an unspecified delivery / unspecified quantity (IDIQ) award with a $ 950 million ceiling from the Department of Defense as part of multiple multi-level security efforts to ensure the development and operation of systems such as a unified force in air, land, sea, space, cyber and electromagnetic spectra.
