For delivery of SDR-Tac
Bharat Electronics and the Ministry of Defense signed a contract to order software-defined radio tactics (SDR-Tac) worth Rs 1,000 on 8 February 2021.
SDR-Tac, jointly designed and developed by the Defense Electronics Laboratory (DEAL) of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) through a consortium of local agencies and industry (Includes weapons and electronic engineering systems (WESEE), Bharat Elect , The Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR) and the Indian Navy) will bring strategic depth to the Indian Navy.
Delivery will take place within three years. BEL is already offering a version of the SDR Naval Combat (NC) and SDR-Air is in the process of being studied by consumers. DRDO and BEL plan to provide the latest SDRs with the best level of security for the Indian Navy.
