Test and measurement system for new and emerging software-defined radio waveforms in military RF communications introduced by Astronics

EASTERN AURORA, New York – Astronics Corp. in East Aurora, New York, presents ATS-3100-based vector transceiver signaling radio solution (VRS), a consolidated radio testing platform for testing military tactical, ground mobile and avionics radio stations.

The ATS-3100 VRS is Astronics’ fifth generation of radio test solutions, capable of testing emerging software-defined radio (SDR) waveforms, state-of-the-art multiband radios and older radio stations (eg SINCGARS) from any original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

Using PXI Vector Signal Transceiver (VST) from National Instruments (NI), the platform provides the fastest test times and the widest bandwidth (up to 1 GHz) in a radio test solution that allows high performance, reduced average repair time (MTTR) and maximum operating time of critical radio stations in the field.

The new ATS-3100 VRS from Astronics Test Systems is an integrated, desktop, software-defined radio test solution that meets the needs of the radio test for legacy, current and next generation technologies.

The modular architecture facilitates future upgrades, extends the life of military radio test system and allows flexibility as maintenance needs change.
